v0.36 - Quality of Life Improvements + Pricing Update

April 12, 2021

For the Infra App v0.36 release, we have focused a lot of our efforts on quality of life improvements and bug fixes from all the submitted feedback. Thank you.

The changes for the 0.36 release

  • New events and YAML tabs when viewing a node from the Cluster Tab
  • New details section with labels & annotations when viewing a workload or node
  • New updated look & feel with icons on the sidebar
  • New color scheme for YAML editor to reflect standard product colors
  • Editing YAML now performs a strategic merge on the resource instead of a regular merge
  • Fixed issue where YAML editor would briefly flash
  • Fixed crash when viewing an ingress object with no rules
  • Fixed issue where utilization would flash between No Data and Loading when metrics-server is unreachable
  • Fixed issue where pod requests & limits wouldn't show when viewing a node
  • Fixed issue where the cluster status would flicker between "Connected" and "Loading latest data"
  • Fixed title bar button positioning on Microsoft Windows
  • Fixed issue where sorting by pods would not work as intended

Pricing Update

Many of you have also reached out to ask what our pricing model would be like going forward, and I want to take this opportunity to address it.

There will be two pricing tiers available - Free and Pro.

  • The Free plan will include all the features in the pro plan but limited to one cluster.
  • The Pro plan will be $10 USD / month or $100 / year with support and work with unlimited number of clusters. This will include all the features you've been using and future features like support for more resources and additional workflows.

When will this take effect? Starting next week, we will be rolling out the ability to pay for the Pro Plan but everyone will receive an additional 30 days to decide whether to upgrade to the Pro Plan or stay with the Free Plan.

I want to thank everyone on this early access list for sending us so much feedback and support us in creating a sustainable Kubernetes desktop client that can be here for the long-haul.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,
Michael Chiang
